Topics getting the most attention in Rancho Cordova public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Community Food Hub
The Food Hub's new market-style facility opened in August and now serves over 1,500 families a week, six times the 2022 level. Leaders warned demand will grow as federal food assistance changes hit in 2027.
Police Activities League youth programs
PAL serves 3,000+ kids a year through free programs — Junior Giants baseball, Adventure Club outings, bike rodeos, and Christmas in Cordova. Councilmember Sander asked for a growth plan to reach more kids.
Community engagement and beautification programs
The city's Community Engagement Division runs programs residents can use directly: microgrants for neighborhood projects, free drought-tolerant front-yard conversions for income-qualified homeowners, up to $500 for removing inoperable vehicles and $1,000 for chain-link fence removal, home repairs through nonprofits, free shade trees, and Good Neighbor Days events.
